We are delighted to hear that WorldSkills UK competitions will be returning to the NEC in Birmingham this November, with the competition promising to be bigger and better than ever.
Our new suite of fabrication and welding qualifications, developed in partnership with industry leaders Lincoln Electric, are linked to National Occupational Standards (NOS). This means that achievement of these qualifications, or the assessments within them, can be used to satisfy the entry requirements of the competition at WorldSkills UK Live.
Before this, contestants must qualify via the heat at Engineering Skills Competitions. There are three metalworking competitions offered at a local, regional and national level, with the final being held at WorldSkills UK LIVE.
What is WorldSkills UK LIVE?
WorldSkills UK LIVE is the largest experiential skills, careers and apprenticeships event, attracting over 70,000 participants. It sees businesses, educators and young people come together to experience excellence at work. Skills competitions are designed by industry experts, and assess an individual’s knowledge, practical skills and employability attributes against set criteria in a competitive timed environment.
