14 September 2020
From 9-15 September 2020, industry leaders UKFT will be launching British Textile Week in celebration and recognition of the artistry and skill that the UK textile industry has to offer. This weeklong event will also provide a digital showcase and share the stories of British textile companies and individuals who have become pioneers in their field.
Skills and Education Group Awards have been a fundamental source of training for textile learners across the UK for the last 15 years, and we are delighted to be able to support the British Textile Week campaign.
Our ongoing commitment to the textile industry has been recognised by UKFT through the endorsement of our textile qualifications suite. Designed in response to identified industry needs for specific programmes of learning within the fashion and textiles sector, our textiles qualifications offer training from Level 2 Certificate to Level 4 Diploma. They provide learners with specialist skills to engage them with current industry practice and prepare them to progress onto further qualifications or employment opportunities.

We are currently the only end-point assessment organisation in the UK to offer end-point assessment for a selection of fashion and textiles apprenticeship standards. Our experience with the standards for the fashion and textiles industry means that we can offer employers and apprentices the support and guidance that they need.
Speaking of our recognition within the industry, John West Director of Skills and Training at UKFT comments “The commitment to our industries is evident and the pro-active approach implemented by Skills and Education Group Awards development staff is very welcomed.”
