The Association of Reflexologists (AoR) has endorsed the Skills and Education Group Awards Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology for Wellbeing – a reflexology qualification designed to prepare learners to work as reflexologists.
The AoR, which is the foremost aspirational and independent professional association for reflexology in the UK, recognises the qualification as providing the skills required for the industry, and as being one of the best available reflexology qualifications at Level 3.
The endorsement means that any learner who achieves the qualification will be able to apply for professional membership with the AoR and become a qualified reflexologist.
Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy that can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing. It aims to optimise people’s health and resilience by reducing their stress levels.
It is a touch therapy based on the theory that all the systems and organs of the body are mirrored or reflected in smaller peripheral areas, such as the feet, hands, ears and face. Reflexologists work on these areas for the purpose of relaxation and stress release.
One of the best reflexology qualifications at Level 3
The Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology for Wellbeing opened for registrations in September 2020. It is a vocational qualification that prepares learners for a career as a reflexologist.
The content of the qualification covers the practical and theoretical skills necessary to work effectively as a reflexologist. Topics covered include knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of complementary therapies; knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology; and a range of skills and techniques to competently provide reflexology treatments and business practices.
The units for the qualification were originally developed in association with Skills for Health. When redeveloping the qualification, the AoR provided professional and specialist feedback, reviewing each unit to ensure that the content is fit for purpose and to industry standard.
Funding is available for the qualification through the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).
Commenting on the endorsement, Amy Robinson, Qualifications Manager for the Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology for Wellbeing, said:
