The Skills and Education Group Awards are pleased to announce the development of the Recovery and Handling of Mobile Automotive Refrigerant accreditation launching in September. This latest development is aimed at technicians who work on automotive mobile air conditioning systems, who under EU law, must be qualified to work in this area.
The accreditation covers the theory and practical knowledge and applications required to maintain air conditioning systems. It will enable a candidate to demonstrate their competence in:
- how to interpret the legislative and organisational requirements and procedures
- how to select and use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling F-Gas refrigerants
- leak detection
- recovery of refrigerant
- recycling of refrigerant
- recharging of air conditioning systems.
On successful completion of the course technicians will be issued with an accreditation certificate which allows them to work safely and legally on car air conditioning systems.
