The majority of fashion and textiles companies now manufacture overseas, with a technical base in the UK focusing on design, pattern production and sampling. This qualification reflects the technical skills needed within these areas and is designed to enhance and develop the skills and knowledge of those who are involved in pattern and garment production, ensuring their skills are recognised and valued throughout the sector.
This qualification is aimed at garment technologists, pattern and grading technologists, sample technicians, handcraft garment makers, and individuals whose role is expanding into new technical and managerial areas.
The ABC Level 3 Certificate in Apparel Manufacturing Technology NVQaims to enhance and develop the skills and knowledge of those who are involved in pattern and garment production, ensuring their skills are recognised and valued throughout the sector
Adaption to Delivery/Assessments under the Extended Extraordinary Regulatory Framework ‘EERF’:
Centres may apply for adaptions on a case by case basis, by completing a variation to assessment request form. All assessment criteria must be completed in full. Special Considerations cannot be used on a whole-cohort basis in lieu of adaptions.

- Garments to be produced at 1/3 size to allow students to make the garments at home.
