For those learners interested in working in animal care, this qualification provides a practical introduction. Learners will gain work-related skills in the area of farm animal care, gain insight into core activities within the sector, and prepare for further training. Learners will complete this qualification with a concrete understanding of the following:
- How to assist with the care of animals, including relevant animal welfare legislation, minimising stress and injury to the animals, and keeping people and animals safe whilst working
- The principles of animal care, including monitoring the health of animals, providing feed and water, and workplace health and safety requirements
- Optional units include: Assist With the Exercise of Animals, Assist with Catching and Restraining a Small Animal, Maintain Animal Accommodation, and more
