The UK has always been known as a nation of animal lovers, so we can see why the animal care industry is now worth a staggering £1 billion to the UK’s economy. As the demand for animal care specialists increases, so does the need for qualified and competent learners to become employed within the sector.
We have developed our animal care qualifications suite to take into account the variety of specialisms that lie within the animal care sector. From Entry Level qualifications in Practical Small Animal Care Skills to a Level 3 Diploma in Work-Based Animal Care (Dog Grooming), our qualifications provide specialist and essential industry knowledge to help learners progress into higher levels of learning or into suitable employment.
A number of our qualifications are recognised and endorsed by trade associations and membership organisations, while some are developed in collaboration with industry and providers. Our qualifications develop practical skills, promote outstanding working practices that are fully in accordance with Animal Welfare requirements, and foster effective communication skills, team-working, and customer satisfaction.
Darran Campini, Programme Manager at School of Land and Animal Science in Leeds City College says: “Skills and Education Group Awards animal care qualifications are amazing. We like how they provide learners with the practical skills needed to be employable, work in the animal care industry or progress on to higher level courses. It is also great that they allow providers to write their own assessments. This gives curriculum the flexibility to adapt assessment to the learners’ needs, the changing industry and specific resources available.”
“Their animal care qualifications are much better suited to learners who want to go straight into industry and not go to university. Learners are not over-assessed and module outcomes are extremely relevant to the practical skills needed to work in industry.”
“Skills and Education Group Awards allows providers to follow their own Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) process and the relationship with the external verifier is a very supportive one. To put their animal care qualifications into a sentence…..they are both learner and curriculum friendly.”
