Fail, Pass or Distinction
A footwear manufacturer apprentice is someone who produces children’s, ladies’ or men’s shoes, boots, sports and dance footwear, trainers or slippers within a factory or smaller studio production environment. Footwear manufacturing is a highly respected, skilled trade.
Apprentices will need to achieve the relevant English and mathematics prior to undertaking their End-Point Assessment. From August 2022 people who start a Level 2 apprenticeship without Level 1 English and Maths will no longer need to automatically attempt Level 2 English and Maths tests to complete their apprenticeship.
Apprentices will need to produce a portfolio of evidence that underpins the observation and questioning.
The Apprentice will be assessed against the Footwear Manufacturer Assessment Plan requirements. The two methods of assessment are:
- Knowledge test
- Observation and questioning, underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
The assessment plan can be found here.
